The short version

Your images never leave your device. We use Google Analytics and Google AdSense to keep the tool free — neither ever receives your image or the content of your QR code.

Your images

Images you drop, paste or choose are read by your browser and processed on your device. They are never uploaded, stored or seen by us. Closing the tab discards them.

Recovered data

Payloads, diagnoses and rebuilt codes exist only in the open page. When you follow “Check the rebuilt QR” or “Plan its physical print size”, the payload is handed to that page through your browser’s session storage, which stays on your device and is cleared when you close the tab. We never send the content of a QR code to any server, including our analytics.

Advertising and analytics

QR Repair is free to use. To keep it running and to understand how the tool is used, two services run in the background:

  • Google Analytics measures visits and how pages are used. It sets first-party cookies so it can tell a returning visit from a new one. It never receives your image or the content of a QR code.
  • Google AdSense shows the ads on this page. It sets cookies and may use them to personalise what you see.

Both services make network requests, as any website’s do. Neither has access to your images, to what a QR code contained, or to your scan results — that data never leaves your browser, so there is nothing for them to collect.

Visitors in the EEA and UK are asked for consent first.
